International Service
International Service is one of Rotary’s Five Avenues of Service and represents our commitment to advancing international understanding, goodwill, and peace through meaningful humanitarian projects and global partnerships.
Projects are required to be sustainable and impactful; Rotary projects have an excellent rating and reputation worldwide.
Rotary’s Focus Areas
Rotary’s international projects address a wide range of critical global issues, including5:
- Promoting Peace: Supporting conflict resolution and peacebuilding initiatives.
- Fighting Disease: Combating diseases like polio, malaria, and HIV/AIDS, and improving healthcare access.
- Providing Clean Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene: Bringing safe water and sanitation to communities in need.
- Saving Mothers and Children: Expanding access to quality maternal and child healthcare.
- Supporting Education: Enhancing literacy and educational opportunities worldwide.
- Growing Local Economies: Supporting entrepreneurship and economic development.
- Protecting the Environment: Implementing sustainable solutions to environmental challenges.

- Water wells for clean drinking water) in many countries
- Projects to build farms, factories and treat malnutrition through Project Peanut Butter
- Solar Lighting projects in Mexico
- Polio vaccination programs throughout the World
- Travel training trips to India, Columbia and other Countries
Getting Involved
International Service offers Rotarians the opportunity to:
- Participate in hands-on service trips and project planning.
- Collaborate with Rotary clubs and partners abroad.
- Support projects financially or through in-kind donations.
- Join Rotary Action Groups, Friendship Exchanges, and other programs that foster global fellowship and service.
