Eradication of polio has been a goal or Rotary for decades, and the goal is almost in sight. Lake Arrowhead Rotarians joined the “Purple Finger Gang” in 2009 and pledged their treasure to finally bring an end to this scourge. If you would like to help, join us as a fellow Rotarian, or pledge your dollars to this international effort. Help the Lake Arrowhead Rotary to END POLIO NOW!
Supporting missionary pilots in Africa
Out of the Marine Corps and determined to be a missionary pilot, Justin Honaker studied, trained, and worked his way up to being accepted by MAF as a pilot in Lesotho, South Africa. You can reach Justin at jhonaker@maf.org, or, you can take alook at Justin’s website at www.missionarypilot.org. Come be a part of supporting such dedicated people who are making a difference
We may be a small club, but the impact of the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Club is felt world wide...and locally too. You can be part of the effect Rotary has on the world by joining with us in support of global causes...and those right around the corner from where you live.
Because of our resort location and being surrounded by national forests, we face disasters that many other California residents don’t...and the one that they all do...earthquakes. In the event of a major disaster, fire and police would likely be overwhelmed. Rotary supports Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) who would assist First Responders in a time of emergency. Here, Rotarians Lon LeBlanc and Butch Baumann, carry a simulated victim to a triage area, while Ira Maser attends to another “victim”. You can read more about the Lake Arrowhead, Running Springs, and Green Valley CERT organization at www.mtncert.org. Just another example of Rotarians who care about their community.
