                      A NOTE FROM THE (ROTARY) PRESIDENT

 Greetings from the President

Happy Holidays, Fellow Rotarians, Friends, & Neighbors:
Well, another quarter of our year has passed!  Time flies when you are having fun. It’s time for an update about what our Noon Rotary Club has been doing and what is projected to happen in the next couple of months.

 There have been changes to our Board and President-Elect position.  With Paula Porter’s resignation as President-Elect, Terry Rayworth, who was our 2013-2014 President Nominee, has been selected to accelerate his Presidency.  Best of luck, Terry and thank you for stepping up for 2012-2013!  
Our 2012-2013 Board will be composed of Terry Rayworth, Jamie Zinn, Angela Yap, Rick Ray, Aylene Popka, Chuck Peters, Steven Boswell, Sheila Ben-Hur, Randy Buechler, Harry Sherman, and your’s truly.  Paula Porter and Ron Doutt have resigned from the Board to be able to devote time to other ventures.
In addition, over the past three months, a lot more has happened.
We have inducted 15 new members, including 11 members of the Rim Rotary provisional club who are being taken in as Noon Rotary Rim Satellite members until the Rim Club has sufficient members to gain its charter as a separate club;
District Governor Steve Wallace visited our club on September 24 and discussed his 2011-2012 goals and programs;
We completed the new fencing at Rotary Point on Highway 173 near Mountains Community Hospital  (please go and visit this wonderful vista point);
We had another successful Challenge Day (our 5th) at Rim and Mountain High Schools with 250 students and 60 Rotarians and community members participating;
Jamie Zinn produced a fantastic oral and PowerPoint presentation about the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Foundation;
We enjoyed another festive and successful Holiday Party at the UCLA Conference Center with great food, fantastic raffle drawing items, good fellowship and camaraderie, and of course an appearance by Santa Claus himself, thanks to the hard working efforts of Party Chair Ron Doutt and his Elves;
We have had an excellent series of speaker programs thanks to our Program Chair Dave Roughton;
We are all looking forward to our fourth annual “Jump In The Lake PolaRotary Plunge” (February 4, 2012) thanks to creator, Dr. Patrick Rains;
Ron Green is revamping our annual Polio Plus fundraising drive this coming year to reenergize the drive to encourage greater giving with some fun and competition – “We are this close to ending polio!”
We are going to have a program to encourage all members to make at least a minimum contribution to the Paul Harris Society to enable our club to have 100% Paul Harris participation, one of the goals of District Governor Steve Wallace for the Clubs in District 5330.!”
