THE TRUE COST OF MEMBERSHIP IN THE
LAKE ARROWHEAD ROTARY CLUB
The continued success of Lake Arrowhead Rotary Club depends
on the quality and commitment of our members. The following
represents the standards of service and commitment for Rotarians.
If you do not feel comfortable with the standards we should
discuss if Rotary membership is right for you at this time.
- Lake Arrowhead Rotarians strive for perfect attendance. If
you miss a regular meeting you can attend "make-up"
meetings at other clubs or by attending some of our other club
functions. We also expect active personal participation.
- Our Rotary Club meets at lunch time each Tuesday from 12:15
to 1:3O pm (12 noon arrival is best), usually at the Royal Oak
restaurant in Blue Jay, Calif. All members are expected to attend
the entire meeting. If, for a good reason, you must leave early,
an apology should he conveyed to the Club President before the
meeting, and possibly to the speaker.
- Rotary is a worldwide organization dedicated to Service, "Service
Above Self." Therefore, participation in one or more of the
Club' s four Avenues of Service, Club Service, Vocational Service,
Community Service and International Service is expected during
each year. These activities are fun and rewarding.
- Our Club membership dues are $100 per year billed $50 each
January and July. There is a one time only initiation fee of $100.
Our Finemaster provides a fun activity at each meeting, but his
fines are limited to the amount each member chooses to pledge
for the year. Member pledges vary considerably but tend to average
about $150 to $200 for the year.
- Currently, each member is billed $40 each month for meals.
This covers all weekly luncheons for the member, luncheons for
spouses attending any 5th Tuesday meetings, the annual demotion
dinner and the annual Christmas season for both member and spouse,
and two luncheons for any "special guests", who are
considered a prospective new member. In addition, members are
billed $5 per month to cover server gratuities.
- The Rotary Foundation is the world's largest private charitable
organization. You will be given an opportunity each year to make
a voluntary contribution to this wonderful fund. Club members
are strongly encouraged to make an annual donation. Our Club goal
is currently $250 per member per year.
- Rotarians give "Service Above Self" and enjoy friendships
and associations with many of the most interesting people in the
world. If you care to actively participate in perpetuating and
strengthening the Service objective of Rotary, then we invite
you to join with us.
