Does
sun, wine, great food, blue skies, clean air, crystal clear
water, music, and a beautiful lakefront location sound like
the way you would want to spend your weekend? Then come join
us at the Lake Arrowhead Rotary's 26th Annual Art & Wine
Festival to be held June 20 & 21, 2009 at Arrowhead Lake
Association's Tavern Bay Beach Club on Lake Arrowhead. Last
year's event was another great year and we are working to
make this year even better! The festival is open from 10 AM
- 7 PM on Saturday and 11 AM - 4 PM on Sunday.
About 80 fine artists will highlight
this year's juried event with works ranging from acrylics
to oil paintings to woodworking. Many of the artists that
were here last year are returning plus there will be many
new artists to the festival.
Wine lovers will find this event a delight
for the palate and their wine
cellars.
Wine will be available for tasting or by the bottle from a
wide selection of vintners. If wine is not your thing, then
come and raise a beer or two. Yes, the festival also offers
a variety of brews for the beer connoisseur. We
will again have the VIP wine tasting area. Guests can relax
in a VIP shaded beach front patio while being served exclusive
wines for the discriminating palate and enjoying wonderful
musical entertainment. VIP guests will receive a special VIP
imited-edition glass with every VIP admission.
This
year's event will include a number of performances during
the weekend event. Many of the entertainers from last year
have already indicated they would love to return this year,
including the Rim High School Jazz Band, Mountain Fifes and
Drums and Out of the Blue with Amanda Achen. Some absolutely
wonderful items will be auctioned off during the weekend,
including one week of hotel accommodations anywhere in the
world that Wyndham or RCI has a resort.
But that is not all.
The
festival will offer an assortment of wonderful edible treats,
from delicious toacos, assorted fresh fruit, tri-tip and hot
pastrami sandwiches, cookies, kettle corn, Italian ice and
naturally our own Rotary dogs.
What better way to spend a weekend pleasing
your senses than viewing the works of about 80 talented artists,
tasting some wine and cheese or beer and a Rotary dog while
listening to the sounds of a string quartet or jazz ensemble
carry with the breeze.
VIP
and general admission festival tickets are available on-line.
General admission is still only $5 and includes admission
to both days, a commemorative wine glass, entry into our admission
opportunity drawing, free parking and the boat shuttle. A
VIP ticket includes everything above, plus seating in the
VIP patio and a VIP limited-edition wine glass. Tickets may
be purchased at www.lakearrowheadrotary.net now and selected
local merchants from Crestline to Big Bear beginning in May
2009. ALA members need only show their membership card to
gain entrance, but will need to purchase an admission ticket
if they wish to partake of the wine tasting.
